If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

07-11-18 Leaf is a 4 year old ex breeding Bichon, who has come to us to find her forever home. Leaf is a sad soul to find herself with us, as she desperately wants to have people to call her own. Leaf will need another dog to live with, as she loves to cuddle with her kennel friends. Leaf is not yet walking on a lead, and will not be house trained but by copying another dog she will learn the ropes. Leaf has her own passport.

8-2-19 UPDATE
Leaf has been to see our vet today. Poor little girl has cateracts and very limited vision. She also has mild clicking in her right hip. It is very difficult for dogs with poor sight in kennels. We do hope she is chosen soon.

12-02-19 UPDATE
Poor Leaf, or Leelee as I call her, is one of our young bichons who has been waiting patiently for 4 months now for a foster place to come available, or for her forever family to find her - making her one of our longest stayers.  You may think she must have major issues or problems, but she is in fact a perfectly behaved little lady who is so easy to work with and gets on perfectly well with every dog she is kennelled with. In fact, she is probably one of the nicest, sweetest souls to have passed through Many Tears doors. But, she is going blind.
Her cataracts are slowly getting worse whilst she is in kennels, which is just so awfully sad to see, and even more sad for her to experience. We are hoping her cataracts may be fixed, and her sight restored, with our Gift Of Sight fund though. And this really will make her a happy girl. A totally different dog. We just need to get her into a foster home for this to happen or if someone would like to adopt her and are in the financial positition to pay for her surgery then we would consider accepting a donation for her rather than the full adoption fee.
Leaf is just 4 years old. A sweet, calm, quiet soul who spends her days cuddled up to her kennel friends in bed. She shares her beds, food, toys, perfectly. She is able to navigate her way outside to her play yard, but needs me to carry her back into her kennel. I need to be slow & gentle picking her up, offering her my hand before stroking underneath her face & wrapping my arms around her. She is worried I might hurt her.
She is such a sweet, gentle girl, who sadly looks worried most of the time - her ears pretty much always pointing back. She has recently been groomed by two very lovely ladies - Elise and Kira - who are trainee groomers at Pets at Home. And she was apparently really easy to groom, and perfectly behaved! This was probably one of the nicest things Leelee has ever experienced.
Leaf has had such a hard start in life, and is now experiencing something which must be so frightening and worrying, yet she remains so cool about it all. I do hope she finds a home soon. She really does deserve a safe, warm, loving, happy home and life, and be shown plenty of TLC, and be treated like an Angel.

24-02-19 UPDATE
Leaf has been to Rowe Eye Vets in Bristol, there is some good news and some not so good news, one eye is suitable for cataract removal, the other eye has a part detached retina and may need to be removed, we have two weeks of eye drops til our next appointment which is when the vets will decide the best treatment for Leaf.
At Rowe Vets Leaf she was Sooooooo well behaved through the assessment even though she was out of her comfort zone she is what "rescue dogs are all about"  so deserving, at home Leaf is embracing having a cosy bed, good food, and a garden to explore, someone is going to be very lucky adopting this little girl....

01-03-19 UPDATE

Leaf is going from strength to strength, she is affectionately known here as "Tea Leaf" due to her stealing socks, slippers, gloves, tea towels etc.... she will even bring them into the room to show you how clever she is, Leaf continues to be a great house guest, and has even coped with a couple of walks on the beach..
Next week Leaf will be back at Rowe Eye vets and I will update after that visit, til then I am sure "Tea Leaf" will carry on keeping us on our toes with her antics.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
