If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

23-10-18 Given is a 5 year old female Beagle. Given is a very friendly, happy waggy girl, who would make a great new addition to the family! Given is a little shy when you go to stroke her, and does not walk on the lead just yet. Given gets on great with other dogs, and would benefit from another dog to live with as she has never lived in a home before and she can copy house training and general manners. Given is going to really love being part of a family once she has relaxed and will love her new life.

30-10-18 UPDATE

Given suits her name very well. She gives her best in every way she can. She is a dear little girl who just needs love, time and patients. Given has learned to walk on a lead now and does walk perfectly. When you go down to stroke Given or give her some fuss she does cower to the floor. She loves her food and will take a treat out of your hand. She also loves to play with her toys and her kennel friends. She goes out walking with visitors and she enjoys going for long adventures. We are looking for a home for Given where there are other dogs as she just would't cope being on her own. If you are looking for a beagle companion then Given is your girl.

01-12-18 UPDATE

Wonderful girl Given. even though she was generally friendly although shy when she came to us at MT, she has come on leaps and bounds, she really would make a wonderful addition. she is extremely waggy, as soon as she see's you and knows you are going to her her tail wags non stop. She is still a little shy but is more than happy for you to stroke her and go in for some cuddles. I put a harness on her today and she was fine, she was a little stiff at first but then walked a short way, so she'll be walking out and about in no time. As stated previously, she would be suited to be with another dog to teach her new ways in her family home, she gains more confidence when her kennel friends are about. Beautiful girl.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

In certain circumstances and in particular when it is one of our long term stayers or a dog who is difficult to home we may transport it down the M4 as far as Reading if the adopter is not able to travel for a valid reason. This will only happen on a Sunday and will be part of our Foster Run where we transport dogs to their foster homes. There will be and additional charge of £20 transport fee for this and the adopter must be able to travel to the allocated service station. Please think very carefully before asking for a dog to be transported as if you already have a dog there is no guarantee they will get along with the new dog or vice versa and you will need to be able to hold on to the dog until the following week and meet the van again if you wish to return the dog.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
