28-09-18 Helen is a 4 year old female exbreeding Shih Tzu. She is a very friendly little dog who already walks well on a lead. She is very people focussed and is utterly charming. She loves to be around other dogs and would learn house training best with a kind dog to watch and copy. This little lady is going to love being someones special girl.

14-10-18 UPDATE

Helen is a larger Shih Tzu. She has been here a week and is a delight. She is much more confident than most ex breeding dogs and very friendly. She is very playful and loves toys and playing with Olisa and some of the more playful dogs here. She sleeps in a crate at night with another dog but now she is more settled we will try her in the lounge with all the other dogs at nIght. She eats well and loves treats. Helen walks very well on a lead and is enjoying seeing the outside for the first time. Housetraining is a work in progress but she does run out with the other dogs and needs putting out to toilet regularly. Helen needs another similar playful companion or she could be homed with Olisa and then there wouldn’t need to be a resident dog. She would need someone who was at home most of the time. Helen is so happy to finally be free and can’t wait to spend Christmas with her new family when they finally come for her.

30-11-18 UPDATE

Helen has a lovely nature and is very bouncy, sweet and friendly. She is very playful and a similar playful companion is a must. She loves her walks and sleeps happily in the lounge all night. Helen does struggle when left and may have an accident, so she would love her someone to be home most of the time and you would need to work with her on this slowly. Toilet training is a work in progress but we have set a strict routine and use puppy pads. Helen could be homed with Olisa a similar sized playful Shih Tzu who she is in foster with and you wouldn’t need a resident dog. She could live with school aged children. Helen is only 3 and is relatively unaffected by her previous life and is just waiting for the right forever home.

28-12-18 UPDATE

This is Olisa and Helen’s first Christmas in a home - BUT it’s only a foster home. Last year they spent it cold and lonely in the place they had been born. But this year they have arrived at Many Tears Animal Rescue and it’s a fresh start. They have marvelled at the tree and watched and sometimes helped with wrapping presents! They have been groomed and are excited because they sense it’s a happy and special time. Tonight they have hung their stockings up and made a
Special wish to Santa to find them their very own forever home. Olisa is 5 and Helen is 3 and they are in foster in Portsmouth. If you think you are the one to grant them their Christmas wish please checkout their profile on the Many Tears website. They wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
