If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

02-01-19 Doris was originally with us at the end of August last year.  She was adopted by a family in September who loved her dearly but she did not enjoy the attention of the family and only wanted to be with her Mum.  They tried working with her and a behaviourist but they were not able to change her.  If they pushed her too much she would nip to show her displeasure.  In early December they made the heartbreaking decision to return her to the rescue.  Doris went straight into a foster home where she is living with three dogs larger than herself.  She is not particularly happy with this arrangement so we are looking for a home for her where there is at least one kind dog of a similar size or smaller.  She loves it when smaller dogs come and visit but is wary of larger dogs.  Doris has found the move very unsettling and has regressed.  She spends a lot of time hiding away from her fosterer and the various visitors that have been in the house over the Christmas period.  She will gently take chicken or other tasty treats from your hand but runs if you try and stroke her.  She toilets in the garden most of the time but does have the odd accident. Her adopted family said that she is house trained.  Poor Doris has a deformed right leg that has been checked by various vets.  It is an old injury that apparently is not painful for her.  She seems quite happy using it and runs about without any problem.   She is no trouble and would love a new home for the new year.  If you are at home most of the time and able to give this little girl the time and love she deserves please complete the application form to find out if you two are a match made in heaven.

Although DORIS (WAS ANTONIA) is by donation rather than the full adoption fee, we ask for a minimum donation of £100 to help cover the costs that have been incurred. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
