25-03-25 Vela is a scared little girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is worried about human interaction at the moment and hasn't been socialised much. She will let you stroke her and gently pick her up, but is very worried by this and doesn't yet understand that human hands can be kind, so will need lots of love and kindness in her new home as she settles in and learns all about being a much loved family member. Vela will need a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with scared dogs and who will let her settle in at her own pace. She relies on other dogs for comfort so will need at least one other kind resident dog to be her friend and take her under their wing. Vela has never lived in a home before so will need to learn all about home life as well as new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. Vela has some hair loss from hormonal alopecia, but this should start to grow back after she has been spayed, although we could not guarantee that. She also has Grade 2 luxating patella in her left hind leg and Grade 1 luxating patella in her left hind leg. These may start to improve with gentle exercise as she strengthens her muscles. Vela has a travel document.
