17-03-25 Amour originally came to us from a breeder back in October 2024, she was recently adopted, but after a a few weeks, her adopters felt like they weren't the right home for her and so Amour has been returned to her foster home. When Amour first arrived with us she was very scared and overwhelmed and was not at all sure about human hands or kindness. She would approach you within arms length, but when you moved she would back away and could give a little grumble of fear.

Once Amour moved into foster home, she started to relax and settle in. She watched the resident dogs and soon started to copy them - even starting to play with them and with toys too! She loves to sit on the sofa, snuggled up to another dog. She is still very worried about humans and does prefer to keep her distance at the moment, but she is definitely getting braver. Amour is currently crate trained and willingly goes into her crate to sleep. She is starting to learn about house training, but this can be hit and miss so her adopters will need to be kind and patient as she gets to grips with this, but hopefully the nicer weather will help. She is very afraid of the lead and so hasn't started to learn about lead walking just yet. Once she is more comfortable being handled, she can practice wearing a lead and harness around the home and garden first until she grows in confidence.

Amour will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs. She relies heavily on other dogs for comfort and so will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing and help show her that humans aren't so scary after all. She loves to play and snuggle with other dogs and is particularly drawn to larger dogs and especially loves the Labradoodle she is in foster with. She is trying so hard to be brave, but she is just so unsure at the moment. With lots of love and TLC, she will start to leave her past behind her and it will be so wonderful to see her hit new milestones like wagging her tail or asking for a treat.

Unfortunately Amour suffered an injury to her tail a few months ago and sadly did have to have a good portion of her tail amputated. She has recovered well and doesn't seem to notice that it's missing.
