  • Human family requirements

I need a calm and quiet home where I can feel safe and learn what love is.

  • Other pet requirements

I will need a kind resident dog to take me under their wing. I have never met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I’m still shy, so I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.

  • Out and about requirements

I enjoy the garden and I will be learning to walk on a harness soon!

  • Training needs

I am in a foster home now so am learning all about home life and house training.

  • Medical issues

I have a Grade 1 heart murmur and low grade patella luxation in my right hind leg.

Gandalf is a handsome and timid boy, who came to us from a breeder and arrived in search of a fresh start. He was initially nervous and unsure of human kindness and found comfort in his kennel friends. He has since moved to a foster home, where he has come on in leaps and bounds and has really started to blossom and come out of his shell. He still relies on other dogs for comfort and loves to snuggle with them, so he will be looking for a home where there was another kind resident dog to be his friend. Thought he is still shy, he is becoming more trusting each day and does enjoy a fuss and will greet you with a waggy tail when you return home. He even sleeps all night in the bed with his fosterers! Gandalf is starting to learn all about home life and new skills like house training as he had never lived in a home before moving to foster. He doesn't yet walk on a lead, but this is something his fosterer plans to start working on with him soon! With his sweet nature and growing trust in people, Gandalf is ready to find the loving forever home he truly deserves.

Before moving to foster, Gandalf visited our vet who noted he has a low grade patella luxation in his right hind leg. This may improve with gentle exercise and as he builds up muscle, but this is something his adopters would need to be aware of as it would not be coverable by insurance should he need any treatment in the future. He also has a Grade 1 heart murmur, which doesn't require any medication, but his adopters and their vet will need to monitor going forwards. Gandalf has a travel document.
