Valley

22-02-25 Valley has come to us from a breeder ready to start her new life and find her forever home. Valley is truly a heartbreaker. The first time I saw her, she was in the van and had just arrived from Ireland - she was squeezed into the corner of her crate, trying to make herself as small as possible and hoping no one would notice her. She was carried to a warm and cosy kennel and given some time to settle in, but the next day did the same thing and spent her day squeezed into the very corner of her big kennel, hoping nobody would see her there. She was just so worried and overwhelmed to find herself here, it was so sad to see. However, two days later, she is already starting to come out of her shell which is just so heartwarming. Although she still hides away in the corner, she has started to look at us and has become quite curious. Now, Valley will cautiously approach you by crouching low to the ground but with the waggiest tail. Once she begins to trust you she will roll over directly onto her back for a gentle belly rub. Despite her fears, Valley does let us handle her easily and we can tell she has the sweetest soul and a gentle nature, she just needs lots of TLC as she starts to settle in and come out of her shell. Valley will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and will allow her to settle in at her own pace. She relies heavily on other dogs for comfort so will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home who will take her under their wing and be her friend. She has never lived in a home before so this will be very overwhelming for her and her new canine friends will help her adjust and learn new skills like house training. She has never worn a lead or harness before so will need to practice wearing these around the home and garden until she is feeling brave enough to venture into the big wide world. Valley is such a sweet soul and it will be so rewarding to see her reach new milestones like feeling brave enough to take a treat from you. She will start to blossom much quicker in a home, so hopefully her family will find her as soon as possible. Valley has a travel document.
