I haven't tried walks just yet and will find this a bit overwhelming at the moment.

  • Training needs

Please be patient with me, I need to learn lead walking and house training.

  • Medical issues

    Please read my information below.

Little Target is a truly sweet and gentle soul who has come to us from a breeder, hoping to find the loving forever home she’s never known. She’s a tiny girl with a heart full of love, just waiting for someone special to help her shine. Target moves with a slightly unusual gait, and after careful examination, our vet believes this may be due to a neurological condition. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to affect her day-to-day happiness, but because of this, she will be available via donation only, and any related medical needs would not be covered by insurance.

She also has slightly narrowed ear canals and some minor irregularities on her corneas, which could, in time, cause light scarring although this isn’t currently impacting her sight. During her spay, Target had four teeth removed, and she has a little hormonal hair thinning (alopecia). Now that she’s been spayed, and with the right diet and lots of TLC, we are hopeful her coat will slowly grow back.

Target is understandably a little shy as she adjusts to her new surroundings, but she's doing her very best to be brave. She's never lived inside a home before, so her future family will need to be patient and kind, helping her learn all the new and wonderful skills she’ll need like lead walking, house training, and all the other little things that make up family life.

For her happiness and confidence, Target must go to a home where there is already a friendly resident dog to help guide and comfort her. She is such a delicate little lady, and she really deserves someone who will see past her worries and offer her the love and security she’s never had. Target has so much love to give, she just needs someone willing to open their heart and show her the world can be a beautiful place.

Target's Diary

  • I’ve been working with this precious little girl for just over a month now and even though she’s trying her hardest to be brave, she’s still very overwhelmed being in such a busy environment. She definitely still doesn’t trust us humans, but she is coming closer and closer with the help of some yummy food. She does really love her food so this has helped win her over a little, but we do still have a long way to go.

Target will run away if you approach her, but when you need to pick her up she’ll usually hop into one of the beds in her kennel and then stay still for you to scoop her up. She’s a very good girl at letting you handle her even though she’s completely bewildered by it, bless her. This week I took her into the grooming room for a little pamper session to ease her into it. I trimmed the hair around her eyes and gave her a gentle brush for 5 minutes or so. Again she was very nervous and had no idea what was going on, but she didn’t make a fuss whatsoever. Next week I think I’m going to give her a bath to make her feel fresher!

Target is going to need a very patient and understanding home with adopters who have all the time and love in the world to give to her. She’s a very special girl and because she’s never seen any of the world before, she’ll need to be introduced to everything slowly and carefully. Everything that most dogs see as normal, will be completely alien to her, so this is why her adopters will need to go at her pace and work with her through her worries and fears. I really do think she’ll progress faster in a calm and quiet home environment, so I hope more than anything that someone chooses her and comes to save her soon!

  • Target is a super sweet little girly that has come to us from a breeder, to find her forever home. Target walks slightly oddly, which our vet believes could be linked to neurological issues. She is doing well and doesn't seem to be effected in any other way, but for this reason she would be by donation and anything relating to this would not be coverable by insurance. She also has slightly narrowed ear canals and some irregularities on her corneas, which may develop into scars. Target also had 4 teeth extracted at the time of her spay. She does also have some hormonal alopecia, but with a good diet and lots of love, now that she has been spayed the fur will hopefully start to re-grow.

Currently, Target is a little shy, but is being brave in her new surroundings. She is a tiny little girl who is so very sweet and we think with love and kindness she will blossom into a wonderful friend. Target has not had the chance to live in a home just yet, and will need her new family to be kind as she learns new skills such as how to walk on a lead and house training. Target would need a kind resident dog in the home to help her build her confidence while she settles into her new home. Target is such a sweet little lady that is looking for someone to just take a chance on her.
