This stunning Dogue de Bordeaux has had her world turned upside down, but beneath her initial wariness is the sweetest, most loyal companion waiting to shine. She just needs someone willing to go at her pace and show her that the world isn’t so scary after all. Narla is looking for an adult-only home with experience in large breeds. She’s been an only dog for most of her life and would love all the attention, but she enjoys playing with others and is respectful of them, so she could be homed with another dog in the right circumstance. She has walked passed cats at the rescue and ignored them, so could possibly be homed with a dog savvy cat. Though she can be nervous with new people, once she trusts you, she will shower you with affection. Loud noises and sudden movements can spook her, and in those moments, she is strong, so she’ll need an owner who can confidently hold and reassure her. That said, 99% of the time, she walks beautifully by your side, happy and relaxed. Narla is house-trained but may need reminders as she settles in. She’s also a clever girl who knows “sit,” “paw,” “down,” and “wait.” She’s been trained to wait for permission before eating and adores apples and cheese as treats. Narla has so much love to give, she just needs the right home to let her flourish. If you have the patience to let her build trust at her own pace, she will reward you with unwavering loyalty, love, and companionship. Could you be the one to give Narla her second chance?
