There is something so refreshing and promising about seeing a dog emerge from a flighty and worried girl to a waggy-tailed and morning kiss kind of lady. Ava came to us from a breeder, not all that long ago, shut down and scared of us humans, and of the outside world. It was obvious that she had not been socialised much with humans and didn't know how to handle our gestures and kind advances towards her. Fast forward to now, and her confidence only seems to be growing daily. She has become one of the happier dogs on her kennel section, and greets her kennel mum with a tail wag, a nose kiss, and a playful paw for a fuss. She has found her energetic side and has a puppy like energy she would love matched by another dog in her new home. Ava's confidence may be growing daily but she still relies on her kennel mates for a bit of encouragement and will need a kind resident dog in the home that she can look to as she continues to flourish. She has been known to be a little flighty in the past, so to ensure her safety, the garden will need to be secure and this will need to be taken into account during lead training. Ava will also need an adult only home where her adopters can provide her with gentle encouragements while she continues learning about the outside world. She has never lived in a home before so this might be overwhelming for her at first. It may take a bit of work, but we believe this amazing and resilient girl will thrive in her new home. Ava has a travel document.
