Zenarda – A Gentle Soul Learning to Shine

Zenarda is a gentle, graceful girl with a calm, regal presence. When she first arrived, she was deeply shut down and scared of everything, but little by little, she’s shown us the resilient and loving dog beneath that quiet exterior.

These days, Zenarda is flourishing in her foster home. She’s fully housetrained, has great recall in secure spaces, and is enjoying learning to walk on a lead, something that once terrified her. She’s curious, affectionate, and developing the sweetest little personality. Her confidence grows daily as she explores the garden, sniffs new places, and accepts treats with a happy wag of her fluffy tail. She’s excellent with other dogs and is starting to believe that human affection can be pretty wonderful too.

Zenarda has met a cat and was calmly curious, so she could potentially live with a cat given careful introductions. She is a quiet, kind-natured soul who is happiest in a peaceful, adult-only home. Like Zorilla, she needs adopters with experience or patience for ex-breeding dogs who may not yet understand how to "be" a pet, but she’s getting there and making us so proud every step of the way.

Zenarda and Zorilla are absolutely inseparable and take great comfort from one another. We are looking for a home where they can stay together, with a calm resident dog (or two!) who can continue to guide them.

They’ve both come so far, and watching Zenarda blossom has been truly special. She’s ready for a forever home filled with softness, security, and love.

Zenarda's Diary

  • Zenarda continues to make good progress in foster. She is completely housetrained and enjoys pottering around the garden. She is starting to get the hang of lead walking, and gets quite excited on her little walks. When off lead in a secure field, her recall is excellent. She loves a yummy treat.  This fluffy girl is starting to sniff and explore new environments which is lovely to see. Zenarda has met the cat and although curious, didn’t react so could potentially live in a house with a cat with careful introductions and management.

Day by day Zenarda’s confidence grows, she is starting to understand that life in a home is good! It’s so rewarding to see her blossom. I hope her people find her soon - she so deserves it.

  • Zenarda and Zorilla arrived in foster almost 2 weeks ago. They were initially quite nervous but are now much braver. They both love snuggles on the sofa and enjoy strokes and fuss from people they know. They get very excited to see me in the morning and Zorilla does the most wiggly happy dance! They are clean in the house with regular garden visits and sleep quietly downstairs with the other dogs. They have been practicing wearing their harnesses but are not yet lead walking.
They get on great with all of my dogs, they are inoffensive and have great ‘doggy manners’
These girls are non destructive and are ok being left for a couple of hours. Whoever adopts them will need to brush and comb them regularly to keep their beautiful coats comfortable and tangle free. They are good to groom, laying there like they’re enjoying a day at the spa! I hope that Zenarda and Zorillas people find them soon, they are so lovely and so deserving of their happy ever after.

  • Zendara is such a beautiful regal lady who continues to make progress here.  She is still nervous of new people initially, but allows them to fuss her pretty quickly. She is getting braver with her harness training, but this is going to take time and the outside world is quite scary. She is perfect with other dogs and is socialised with lots every day. She's truly something special and I'm desperately hoping her and Zorilla will find their home soon.

  • What a difference some TLC can make! When Zenarda and Zorilla (smaller) arrived, they were so overwhelmed and worried about everything. They'd curl up in a corner together and didn't want to acknowledge humans. Zenarda was very easy to handle but Zorilla would give you warning snaps if you went to pick her up. This all changed when they started to bond with me and trusted that I wasn't going to hurt them. As you can see from the videos, they are real little love bugs when they know you, but they are still wary of new people. Zenarda is braver and will ask other staff members for a fuss pretty quickly, but Zorilla takes her time to trust. They are good with other dogs of different sizes and they do adore each other, so we are hoping that they'll get snapped up quickly as a pair. They will need a resident dog who will show them the ropes of home life, they do try very hard to be kennel clean here, so that's a good start on their journey to being house-trained. These little girls have totally captured my heart, I'm so obsessed with them and am incredibly proud of how far they've come already, but their new home will need to understand that it will take time for them to trust their new humans and Zorilla may be a bit tricky to handle at first in her new surroundings and humans.

  • Zenarda is a beautiful girl that has absolutely broken our hearts at how shut down she is at the moment. Zenarda has traveled to us from a breeder and does have her PETs travel documents. Zenarda is desperately needing some basic TLC as she is very worried and closed off. She does not have a lot of confidence, and is okay with being handled after a bit of time spent with her and slow gentle movements, but she is very uncomfortable with it. Zenarda loves her friend Zorilla and we would love them to be homed together if possible. If they were homed separately, she would need a kind and gentle resident dog that will allow her the time support she needs while she settles into her new home. As Zenarda is very timid, fast movements are very scary for her and so she will need a home free of resident and visiting children. She also may require a home that has experience with ex-breeding dogs that will understand she needs a quiet space to settle in and thrive. Since Zenarda has not had the chance to live in a home just yet, she will need her adopters to be kind as she learns new skills such as house training and how to walk on a lead. We are hopeful that with some time, assurance and consistent love this girl will learn to trust us humans and will become the happy girly we are hoping she can become!
