Loot

Loot is an absolute heartbreaker. It would be so nice if we could just talk to him and tell him that we are safe, we are kind, we love him and we want him to succeed, wouldn't it? But, since we can't just talk to him, we will have to continue to show our love in the form of slow movements, whispered encouragements and allowing him to build relationships at his own pace. Loot came to us a couple of months ago from a breeder and is still finding us humans very overwhelming. We cannot imagine what he may have gone through in the past, but is has created deep rooted fears that would break even the toughest of hearts. But honestly, we think this makes Loot just that more loveable. It makes him more loveable because he is not open to being just anyone's best friend, he needs time and assurance and will only be able to build that special bond with someone who shows him kindness and compassion, and in turn you get the joy of watching a once shut down dog flourish into a companion. Loot will need a very kind resident dog in his new home that will share their space with him, and allow him to lean on them for assurance and safety. His adopters will need to be kind and gentle and help provide daily encouragements and affirmations so that Loot can continue on his journey of building confidence and trust. Please don't let this scared but deter you from creating what could be the greatest bond and companionship.
