Meet Betsy – A Special Girl Looking for Her Perfect Home

Betsy is a sweet and sensitive little dog who has been through a lot in her life. She arrived at Many Tears from a breeder a number of months ago and has been adopted and returned multiple times, always for the same reason, she is very wary of people she doesn’t know and uncomfortable being picked up. However, once she forms a bond with someone, she is an affectionate, loyal companion who loves to follow you around, snuggle close, and be part of your world.

Over her time in foster, Betsy has made huge progress. She has recently started playing with toys for the first time, jumping onto chairs, and showing more confidence in her surroundings. However, she still needs a patient and understanding adopter who will let her settle in at her own pace and not rush her.

Betsy’s Ideal Home:

• Adult-only home – no children or visiting children, as she is easily startled
• Experienced owner, preferably someone familiar with ex-breeder dogs
• A kind, confident resident dog – must be bigger than her, as she can be too boisterous with smaller dogs.
• Calm and quiet environment – she needs time to build trust and feel safe
• Careful handling – Betsy dislikes being picked up but will tolerate it when necessary (e.g. for grooming or putting on her harness)
• A committed adopter who understands that earning her trust may take months but is incredibly rewarding
