Quiet Soul Seeking a Gentle Life – Queenie’s Time to Shine

Queenie is a gentle and super-sensitive soul who has been patiently waiting for her forever home for such a long time. She’s watched all her kennel neighbours find families, quietly wondering when it will finally be her turn.

Arriving from a breeder back in October, Queenie was completely overwhelmed and very wary of us at first. Since then, she’s slowly started to grow in confidence, a journey still in progress that will need continued love, time, and patience from her future family. This lovely lady truly deserves to be cherished. She now greets us with the cutest little happy feet dance when we arrive at her kennel, though she can still be easily startled if we move too quickly, often retreating to the back of her kennel when feeling overwhelmed.

It’s impossible not to adore Queenie, all the staff have a soft spot for her. She enjoys slow, quiet walks and prefers peaceful surroundings, as busy roads and noisy areas would be far too much for this delicate girl. Because she can be easily startled by hustle and bustle, Queenie would do best in a calm, adult-only home where she can feel safe and secure. While she would prefer to be the only dog, she’s happy to share her space with calm, gentle visiting dogs. She often enjoys walks and yard time with other quiet dogs here at the rescue, although she doesn’t seek out play.

Queenie has met cats around the rescue and hasn’t shown any interest in them, if anything, she’s a little startled when they make sudden movements.

Her ideal home is a calm, relaxed household where not too much goes on, just a cosy sofa and kind humans who will help her enjoy the quiet life she so deserves. As she’s never lived in a home before, she’ll need guidance to learn all about house training and other aspects of pet life.

Queenie really doesn’t ask for much, just kindness, patience, and a soft, warm spot to call her own. She’s a truly special girl who will blossom in the right home and give so much love in return.

Queenie's Diary

  • It’s now been 174 days since our Queenie walked through our gates for the first time. 174 days of sitting behind the same gate of the same kennel, while people walk past her every day saying things like “well that’s a face only a mother could love”

The staff at MT are completely and utterly besotted with this angel and we think she’s the most beautiful girl in the whole world. She SO deserves a family who will feel the same way about her and look past her imperfections

Queenie is looking for a calm and quiet home environment with no children. She’s a very anxious girl who finds loud noises and sudden movements very scary, so being at the rescue is really not the best place for her. Having her own safe haven with parents who will love her unconditionally is what she needs, and soon

Queenie would like to be homed as an only dog, but she does enjoy going for walks and having play dates with others .. so adopters that have family dogs would be perfect for her! She has met cats many times at the rescue and doesn’t bother with them at all, but she does jump a little when they run near her. She’s just such a sensitive lady, bless her

This poor girl has seen SO many dogs come and go, and it’s just not fair. When will it be her turn?

  • Our lovely Queenie is still here patiently waiting for her people, and we know those lucky people are going to adore this super lady when they meet her. Queenie is just the sweetest and I cannot believe she is still here waiting, she’s such an easy girl to please wanting nothing more than a cosy home and kind humans to love her. Queenie does not need lots of entertaining and will be happy snuggled up on the sofa and going out for quiet, gentle strolls. Queenie can be easily startled and worried by loud noises and sudden movements and for this reason she would like a home where it will be just adult humans who ideally live in a quieter area. Queenie does have play dates with other dogs but prefers to kennelled on her own, and we think a home where she can be the only dog would be better. We would love to see this great dog in a home of her own soon.

  • Queenie Queenie Queenie, how is she still here?

Queenie is a sensitive girl but once she knows you she has the most beautiful calm temperament and loves to sit in the back of her kennel having a fuss of you!

Queenie isn’t the most active of dogs and enjoys a small quiet stroll sniffing her surroundings but she much prefers to be cuddled up on her duvet under her heat lamp. I really hope Queenie isn’t here much longer because she deserves a nice cosy home where she can snuggle up on a sofa!

Queenie does socialise well with certain dogs but she doesn’t like to share her space with them, so she would best be suited to home with no other dogs. Queenie can get spooked easily and would much prefer a quiet adult only household. Please don’t leave this sweet angel waiting much longer!

  • This sweet, sweet girl is still waiting for her people to find her. She is such a lovely dog, she is looking for a human or humans that like to pootle through life at a quiet and slower pace just like her. Queenie is so nervous of all the loud noises at the rescue and will often be found in the back of her kennel curled up in her bed where she feels safe, but when she sees you, will come and say hello and even does a little happy feet dance to show how pleased she is you are visiting. Queenie is still very unsure of new people and will duck down or rush back to her bed if you approach her to fast, but with kind words and gentle coaxing she can be persuaded to go out for a stroll and once out she walks beautifully on lead and actually quite enjoys the fresh air and company. I’m so fond of this lovely dog and feel it is a real shame she keeps being overlooked, she honestly has a heart of gold. Queenie is easily spooked by other dogs and prefers her own company so is looking for a home where she will be the only pooch, she does have little playdates with other dogs but short bursts of company are quite enough for her. If you think you have the right home for this dear lady please do put an app in.

  • The lovely lady that is Queenie, she just breaks my heart. She is so, so gentle with us humans and tries very hard to be brave every day even though life in a noisy rescue is scary for her. I would so love to see this sweet pooch in a home of her own soon, she’s such an easy girl. All she asks for is a quiet life in a warm loving home. She prefers to be kennelled on her own but enjoys a bit of dog company out in our play yards and would like a home where she will be the only dog. Queenie is nervous of all things new and noisy but if you go slowly you are rewarded by her very lovely nature and she will make a doting companion. Queenie loves a gentle stroll and walks beautifully on lead. I’m just certain the right home is out there for our dear Queenie and if you think you might just have that home please put an app in.

  • This beautiful angel is Queenie and I can't believe she has been at the rescue for over two months! She is an absolute sweetheart who just craves human contact. She had a busy day today with lots of walks, enjoying time in the big sand school then kept me company on lunch where we had lots of cuddles. Queenie doesn't want much from life just some chilled walks and someone to snuggle up to at the end of the day. There has to be someone out there for this amazing girl.

  • The lovely Queenie is still waiting for a home to call her own. Queenies one wish for Christmas is to have a home to call her own, she doesn’t ask for much just a warm comfy spot and kind gentle humans to help her be brave in the big wide world.
Queenie is a sensitive and often quite shy lady and I can see that life in noisy kennels is a lot for her and she often retreats to her bed to feel safe, but once we get her out of the kennels and off for a walk she brightens up and trots by your side.
Queenie would suit a quiet adult only home where there’s not too much going on, somewhere she could enjoy a little sniff in the garden a gentle stroll and long afternoon naps, Queenie is looking for a home where she will be the only dog.

  • Queenie is an absolute beauty of a girl, she has stolen everyone's heart at the rescue hands down. Queenie is one of a kind and everyone who has worked with her or socialised with has fallen in love with her. Queenie would love nothing more than to be cuddled up on the sofa with a nice fleece blanket and lots of snuggles. She really does deserve nothing less than to be treated like an absolute queen that she is. Queenie does like to go for short walks in the day and has even gone for walks with our wonderful volunteers. We really hope that queenie can find her forever home soon as the nights are getting colder and she would love to snuggled up in front of the tv in her blanket having cuddles.

  • Has anyone got a Queenie shape hole in their lives?

Queenie is one of the most angelic dogs you’ll ever meet. Even though she’s a big girl, she is SO gentle and placid and sweet .. it is absolutely impossible not to fall in love with her. At first, she is a nervous lady who will cower whenever you raise your hand, but once you spend some time with her she does warm up very quickly and then will approach you for lots of fusses

Queenie would love a slow-paced forever home, with someone who would want to share the sofa with her and have big cuddles every evening. The home will need to be adult only due to her being quite timid, and she does also need to be the only dog as she doesn’t like to share her space. Passing other dogs on walks etc is not an issue whatsoever, she would just prefer to be homed alone!

Every staff member at the rescue is besotted with this girl and it’s really not hard to see why. She has the most amazing nature about her and we just know she’s going to make somebody’s house a home. So please don’t keep her waiting too much longer.

  • Queenie is one special lady that's for certain. It was my first time meeting this darling girl today, and although she was a little wary of me at the beginning, within a little time spent together she soon started approaching me with the biggest tail wag ever. When you first meet Queenie, initially she is so worried she does try and go as low as possible to the floor while sussing you out, but once she knows you have only love to give she begins to gain her posture back and gives a tail wag.
Queenie loves sleeping under the heat lamp in her kennel but also loves to explore the yard and loves going for strolls throughout the day. She would love nothing more than to be in a forever home cuddled up with her forever family on the sofa, getting all the attention she could of only dreamed of having many years ago. Queenie does try and keep her kennel clean throughout the day with the odd wee here and there, but now mainly goes outside to do her business, even though she does this in a kennel she will need to be shown in the home, as she has never lived in a home before, so will need time and patience while she grows and understands home life. She is looking to be an only dog in the home, so she can lap up all the love and attention she could possibly want.

  • Queenie is a a girl to steal your heart.  She has come to us from a breeder and arrived with conjunctivitis and an underbite which will be assessed by the vet. Queenie is a lovely lady who is completely overwhelmed to find herself here but once she knows you will approach us with a wagging tail and loves a fuss once she gets comfortable with you but that does take her a little time as she is so worried.

Queenie is nearly able to walk on a lead but as she has come to us from a breeder she doesn't know about house training and other home skills so will need a patient adopter to help her learn this.

Queenie would be best suited to being the only dog in the house so she can get all of the attention and love to herself.  She has only been with us for a couple of days, but we think in time she will start to show us her playful and cheeky side. She needs an experienced home to help her to continue to learn and grow into a happy and confident house dog.
