Jumbo and Yitty are two incredibly special dogs that will thrive being in a home environment with people who love them for who they are! They need a larger secure garden so they can have a good old zoomies session when they feel comfortable enough to do so and they need people who know how to handle a worried lady. Jumbo is such a playful boy who loves nothing more than a good cuddle with his humans, Yitty is more stand-offish but she does try to be brave and she's doing very well here, but she does have a long way to go.
They don't ask for much, just a sofa to snooze away on, food (they love that) and people who love them unconditionally. Hopefully it'll be their turn soon.
Yitty

Yitty is the most special girl that has originally come to us from a breeder, very worried and very shut down. She arrived to us pregnant in January 2024, watched her babies get adopted, and has been left behind ever since. Yitty was briefly in a foster home but was returned to us as she does not like to share her space with female dogs. Yitty has come a long way since her arrival but is still a very flighty girl, who needs reassurance in the form of patience and safety. She now enjoys her walks in familiar places and loves her time in yards that she is familiar with.
The first few times in a new surrounding, she can become quite stressed and paces, but after a few times she settles and starts to play with her doggy friend. Yitty thrives on consistency and routine and once she knows her routine, that's when she makes strides in confidence. Yitty is currently on anxiety medication to help curb any unwanted and hard to manage worries that she may have. This applies to walks as well as she can be spooked on walks in new places, but once she has become accustomed to the route, she is a happy and waggy-tailed girl. Just like a well put together lady, she finds her confidence most after a nice groom and trim, which is very fitting for an esteemed woman such as herself.
In her time here, Yitty has made many kennel friends, but we have never seen her as happy and relaxed as she is with Jumbo. For this reason, we would like for Jumbo and Yitty to be homed together. She relies heavily on Jumbo, mirrors and copies everything he does, even down to having a drink of water. Yitty has made strides in her confidence since being paired with him and takes a lot of comfort in him when she is stressed. They will need a home with no resident dogs or cats and may find children quite stressful. Yitty is currently being treated for sore ears.

I can't believe Yitty is still waiting! She has now "celebrated" her one year anniversary since her arrival, which was the 16th January. I know she's a scared lady, but she just needs someone to take a chance on her. With a playful and comforting confident resident dog I'm sure she'd make strides in her confidence once she's settled in a home.
She is a beautiful girl who's full of character, and even though she's been here over a year, she is still making little bits of progress every single day! Even something as simple as eating in front of us has started to happen over the past few weeks! I can't wait for the day where we'll wave Yitty off to her forever home.

These two are so comedic. Jumbo has brought Yitty's silly side out, and for the first time ever I'm seeing Yitty become cheeky, characteristic, and just generally be a happy dog (she's been here 11 months)!
Jumbo LOVES toys, and because of this Yitty has started to show interest in them too! Every day we have the same routine, and every day I end up in stitches at their antics! They've both been going for long walks twice a week with one of our trusted volunteers and they both get so excited that even Yitty has started copying Jumbo and jumps up at the human with her harness with excitement now!
Any potential adopters must know that Jumbo will be a little nervous when he first goes to his new home but I think he'll settle fairly quickly, however the settling period for Yitty will be a long and slow one, and all I've said about safety aspects above for Yitty would still need to be prioritised, but with Jumbo there I think she'll settle quicker than if she went home with a dog she doesn't know. Once she has settled you will truly be the luckiest people, if I could spend all my time with these two, I absolutely would. They are just amazing!

Yitty is still a very nervous girl but with each passing day she is getting more and more brave. We've noticed that after a groom she is much more lively, happy and playful, so we are going to have her groomed more regularly and see if we can help her progress this way, as the week after she's groomed is always the week where she hits milestones in her confidence. Yitty has found so much confidence and comfort in her kennel friend Jumbo, that we would happily home these 2 together if someone didn't have a resident dog! It isn't a must, and Yitty would still need a male resident dog to go home to if they weren't to go together, but it would be a nice option for Yitty as we've all seen such a different side to her since she's been kenneled with Jumbo.
She is still a very scared girly and safety would always be priority for her, but seeing the way she's growing lately is unbelievable! I see the potential of the kind of pet dog she will be in the distant future and get very emotional. Today she had a huge breakthrough; we go down 'the big yard' every day. Initially I kept a long line on Yitty as I wouldn't have been able to catch her to get her back in.
Over months as her confidence has grown in the yard, I reduced the length of the lead being left on her until it was just 1 lead trailing. Last week I took all leads off her and she really let loose. Well today, for the first time, she sniffed around, had a wee, and even played with Jumbo. I cried my eyes out when she started playing. This is absolutely HUGE for her and shows with the right gentle push and lots of patience, she can get there!

Poor Yitty is still waiting for her forever home. She has progressed very well in the past few weeks in kennels, she thrives off routine. Every day we take her to the yard, when she sees her harness she runs to the front of the kennel and waits for us to put it on, she then pulls us to the yard the exact same route every time. Initially Yitty was very stressed in the yard, I imagine she felt very vulnerable in an open space. But now Yitty is a big fan of the yard and now has zoomies every time she goes out and will run around playing with her kennel friend, Milo. She LOVES the astro yards with obstacles to jump on and over. It's amazing to see her come out of herself like this. Yitty had her first ever walk last week, (she has not been ready before now) and she was so brave. She had 1 spook but recovered quickly, and as long as her kennel friend was with her she did really well! If she lost sight of him she would start to panic though. She will always need a 3 clip harness and slip lead on walks, but will probably be at her most happiest when simply running around in the garden of her new home.
Yitty spends her days super comfy in the back of her kennel watching the world go by. Yitty is a really special girl with a super tender soul. She has been through the unimaginable, from breeding and no love, to severe infection with no will to go on. Although she continues to progress in kennels, I think she would do really well in a quiet home environment where she has all the time in the world to adjust to her new life. She needs a MALE resident dog, medium to large size to go home with. A stable structure & routine. Experienced humans and no children or visiting children.

Yitty is a super special girl. She is still very scared and very flighty. Safety would always need to take priority with Yitty, things like double leading, shutting a second door before opening a door to the outside world, just to eliminate any chance of her slipping out.
When Yitty knows her dog friend and knows her routine she does calm down, settle and can be slightly more relaxed, but she gets herself quite worked up quite easily, because of this she needs someone experienced with ex breeders.
She is a stunning girl (that is due a groom) who just needs someone to take the chance on her. She needs a resident male dog her size or bigger to learn from, who will not mind her lying in bed with them.
She is now happy to eat her food alone, but if anything upsets her routine and she is worked up she may skip a meal or two.
Yitty walks ok on her 3 strap harness and slip lead when there is another dog with her and she knows the route she's taking. If she's going somewhere new or doesn't have a dog friend with her she will really panic. I don't think Yitty would be ready for formal walks in the big wide world for a while yet.
I can promise that Yitty would be worth the patience and love that you'd give her. She just needs someone who's willing to work with her, listen to her, and not give up on her. If you think this could be you please do pop in an application. I would not home Yitty with cats or small furries. -
Yitty is a kind soul who has came to us from a breeder to find her forever home. Yitty arrived extremely underweight and scared. After a couple weeks we realised she was pregnant. She shortly had 10 puppies but after a week developed a really horrible case of mastitis meaning we had to take her from the pups to be able to treat her properly. She came straight home into foster care. Yitty has now fully healed but lost the weight she had been able to put on whilst she was unwell so we’re slowly building her back up now but she is still very underweight.
Yitty is very nervous of humans and she is a potential flight risk so needs a really experienced adopters with a secure home. Yitty will be looking for a home where there is another kind resident dog who is male and around her size or larger. She must be allowed on furniture, sleeping on the sofa and bed with me is how she is beginning to enjoy being in our company. Yitty is learning to walk on a harness/lead. Yitty likes to have dogs next to her to eat with her, otherwise won’t eat so the resident dog(s) need to be okay with this. She has a PETS passport travel doc.
