17-04-25 Meet Soda Sweet, Shy, but Ready to Sparkle

Soda may be small in size, but she’s already made a big journey all the way from Ireland, travel documents in paw, and now she’s looking for a special someone to help her take her next steps in life.

She’s a miniature poodle with a heart full of kindness, though right now it’s wrapped in layers of nerves. Like many ex-breeding dogs, Soda has never known the comforts of a home, and everything is brand new to her. She’s a delightfully gentle soul who wants to trust you but she’s still working up the courage to believe that the world is finally safe.

Soda will need a kind, confident resident dog to lean on as she learns all about home life, someone to show her that sofas are soft, hands are gentle, and walks can be fun. Housetraining and lead walking will come with time, once she’s feeling braver. Right now, a calm, adult-only home is essential, one where the pace is slow and love is given freely, with no expectations.

Despite her timidity, we don't think it will be long before Soda is showing glimmers of the poodle cheekiness we know and love. With patience and kindness, we’re sure she’ll blossom into a typical poodle - smart, spirited, and just the right amount of sassy.

Poodles make brilliant companions, they’re clever, loyal, and absolutely adore their people. They tend to form strong attachments and love being part of the family. Yes, they can be vocal, a little bossy, and full of personality, but that’s all part of their charm. We don’t yet know Soda’s full personality, it’s hidden behind her nerves for now but if you love poodles, we know you’ll love her.

She had had 1 tooth extracted at the time of her spay.
