11-11-17 - MIKE POLLARD
In July.. I took on the challenge of an Ultra Race around the North Wales Coastal Path. I managed to complete 72 miles in just under 24 hours. However I unfortunately struggled with severe blisters due to the difficult conditions but the potential sponsorship inspired me to keep going for such a worthy cause. Having adopted a Beagle from MTAR in 2015 I was never going to give up and I was able to raise £1400 in the process. Beattie (was Raven) the Beagle is now loving life running free in the Forests and on the beaches of Snowdonia. I recently visited the rescue and was able to see the excellent work being done by Sylvia and her great Team. Thank you again for rescuing Beattie and allowing us to bring much needed love and happiness to her life. 2 years ago when we rescued her she wouldn't even look me in the eye but today she jumps up on the sofa next to me and loves nothing more than a cuddle and a belly rub!!

We have kindly been donated the sum of £400.83 which was a collection made by family and friends of the late Mrs Susan Hookings. A further £40.00 was donated by TATA Steel separately making a total of £440.83 for the animals.

Unknown to ourselves she, over the years, knitted hundreds of squares which she sewed into blankets for a number of charities but primarily Many Tears. She also used to give her friend, our supporter Angela, old towels and anything that she thought could help the animals which I would deliver to Many Tears on her behalf.

Volunteering not only benefits the dogs and the staff (many hands make light work after all) here it can also benefit you as a volunteer. Our volunteers enjoy feeling part of a dynamic team. Volunteering also looks good on a CV if you are looking for a job as it shows your commitment and passion. Some volunteers find it helps them to get out and meet people where they may not be able to otherwise and some volunteers are unable to adopt a dog of their own but love them and this is an ideal way to help and be close to dogs without owning one.
There is a job for anyone and everyone regardless of age, experience, or ability. So many of our dogs have never known kind hands and cuddles so sitting with them, spending time with them can help them hugely. Our pups and more outgoing dogs enjoy being played with, there is always bathing and grooming to, painting, tidying, cleaning, sorting, counting, organising and walking to do!
We are open to volunteer 11-4 daily so please do come up and introduce yourselves and we can show you around and get you started.
