Sarah opened her up and discovered a huge mass (about the size of a grapefruit full of puss and about to burst which would probably have ended Disco's life. 28-07-16 It’s been a really busy time
It’s been a really busy time. I picked up a large amount of dogs in Ireland last week that had done their time to be able to travel with passports. Then on coming home and settling them in I started loading the van and horse trailer with all the amazing beds and donations that our supporters have given to raise funds. I then did the 6 hours drive to the venue, spent three intense days at the show setting up, selling items and then packing up and driving home - getting back at 1.20 pm on Monday morning all this has taken its toll but we raised just over £4,000 which of course is an amazing amount, so THANK YOU for all your help.
By Monday night I was loaded again to go to pick up the the other passported dogs. We returned yesterday and am now busy bathing, grooming, health checking and caring for the new intake. Walking around looking at them yesterday I lost it and started crying. I never do this in front of my staff but sheer exhaustion and worry lead me to it. Two bulldogs slobbery kisses and I was back on track.
Busy busy times for us all here and now your time, support and help is really needed. We of course want to carry on but we are so financially compromised. Our dogs can cost thousands in vet bills many come to usm needing leg, eye, heart surgery and so much more. Just not sure how to keep this up but do know I will try.
Thank you again to the amazing helpers who turned up at Ardingly and to those who sent items to sell - I could not have raised these funds without you.

01-07-16 LEIGHTON WATKINS
Huge thanks to Leighton Watkins who is a Many Tears supporter who decided to do some fundraising. He is a member of the Tredegar Male Voice Choir. With their support he organised a concert to raise funds for us. The evening consisted of songs from the choir, a raffle and also some members of the choir who are musicians formed a band for the night and played a set as well. Matthew and Delyth from the staff team attended to represent the rescue on the night. In addition Leighton also did a sponsored one armed push up, alternating between arms. The total he raised from these events was a wonderful £1,667.56 !
In addition to this Leighton comes to the centre every few weeks with a car full of donations for us and sells our scratch cards too. He really is one of our special knights in shining armour and we are so very grateful for all his support.

27-06-16 COWBRIDGE STREET COLLECTION - UPDATED!!
On Friday, 24th June our regular band of volunteers stood in Cowbridge with their dogs promoting MTAR. Sun and rain prevailed and £212 was collected. Many thanks to those who donated and big thanks to Gwyn, Carole, Gee, Catherine and the dogs for always pitching up to volunteer.
What a wonderful surprise when one of our original Cowbridge benefactors, Mr Davies, donated £100 (post event) to our collection of Friday, 24th June (thereby bringing it up to £312). This is only possible because of my right-hand lady, Catherine Scott, who has been a faithful supporter and founding member of the Cowbridge Street Can Collection Team! MTAR thanks you, and you Mr & Mrs Davies for their constant support.
Cheryl Morgan-Veck with Chester and Little Gem
PS: Roz Couzens didn't have her purse on her on the day but made a point of following up with a donation of £20. Roz always mentions MTAR to all her clients and has made a successful match between one of them and "Tulsa" now Bobby. Her donation brought the total raised to £323. :)

23-06-16 SECOND HAND SHOP
We have just received another contribution of £1732.54 from the second hand shop in Blackwater. This is an amazing amount which couldn't come at a better time as funds are so low. So how did they do it? Well they hosted another jumble sale in Yateley which was a great success and another car boot sale at Country Market in Farnham the following week. They also have had some success with selling on eBay during the month, kindly done by Allison’s daughter in her spare time from being a full-time Mum. The shop has also been a hive of activity – completely remodelled during the month which had great feedback from customers – finding it roomier and easier to have a good old rummage. Some furniture donations have also been a good money maker. We are so grateful to everyone who is making this a success from those who run the shop, those who donate items and of course those who buy them.

20-06-16 STREET COLLECT SWANSEA
With only my own two dogs and one volunteer confirmed for this collection, the Swansea Collection looked bleak. However, with Lorraine Hodson making me laugh with her enthusiastic attitude, "I'm really looking forward to it", we put our best paws forward and set up camp outside Swansea Market and did we get a welcome from Swansea Shoppers!!!! The flow of donations was non-stop for 3 hours! Lots of interest! The shoppers donated £302 (including a hefty donation from Lorraine's friends and family). Topped up by our own Ruth Long with Joe; and newbie supporter Joanna Morgan. Giving us a very respectable total of £332. I always knew I had amazing dogs and they certainly charmed the crowds to be able to come away with that amount in such a short time. Phew! Thank-you Swansea, you never fail us!
